Don't Give Away Window Time!
Management cuts staffing, in part, by measuring POS-ONE DOWNTIME. Unfortunately, not utilizing your Non-Revenue Transaction codes as instructed (probably because you don't have, or make, the time to) robs the office of vital window coverage.
Please help stop this vicious downward cycle by
accurately recording Non-Revenue selections.
Of course it is equally essential that you timely return to the appropriate Transaction functions lest the entire period be recorded as downtime.

When Going Postal Is A Good Thing
excerpted from an article by Mike Causey, FederalNewsRadio.com
If you are looking for one of the best health insurance deals in the nation join the U.S. Postal Service. It's workers get the same coverage, at about half the cost, as most other feds.
How come?
Can you say U-N-I-O-N?
Thanks to the clout of powerful postal unions, clerks, letter carriers, mail handlers and other rank-and-file postal employees pay a lot less, as in A LOT less, than feds who work for Defense, OPM, the IRS or other agencies.

Candidates Nominated For APWU Election of National Officers
excerpted from the APWU News Bulletin #06-2007
Secretary-Treasurer Terry Stapleton has announced that the following union members have been certified as candidates for election to national office by referendum balloting, as mandated by the APWU Constitution and Bylaws.
Each candidate in this unofficial listing has secured the necessary petitions required for nomination. The official list will be announced after the drawing for position on the ballot is held.
Incumbent officers are listed first and identified by (I) after their names. Where more than one non-incumbent candidate has been certified, they are listed in alphabetical order. (A list of uncontested national offices appears after the contested races.)
