[May 1st]14th PMAPWU Solidarity Picnic 2012 Details Announced!
The Solidarity picnic is Sunday, June 10th from 12:00 noon to 7:00 pm, and will be held in a new location this year, the Syria Shriner Pavilion in Cheswick, PA.
We have the registration form available online for you to download, print, fill out, and drop it into the mailbox with a check for the appropriate amount of money, if you are bringing a guest. As always, it is free for PMAPWU members.
You must register by May 31, 2012 so do it now, and be sure to send it to the address at the bottom of the form!
[May 1st]Senate Approves Amended Postal Bill: 21st Century Postal Service Act (S. 1789)

The Senate passed an amended version of S. 1789 on April 25 by a vote of 62-37. The bill will provide the USPS, which is facing imminent collapse, with short-term financial relief, by returning $11 billion in USPS overpayments to federal pension funds to the Postal Service.
"Although the bill is flawed, the amended version is far better than the original," said APWU President Cliff Guffey. "That is a result of the tremendous effort of APWU members, postal customers, and elected officials who appreciate the importance of the Postal Service to American life. Thank you for your hard work."
